Who’s using a Sidekick 3?

I’m thinking about switching from a Palm Tungsten C and LG cell phone to a Sidekick 3.

If you’re reading and have a Sidekick 2 or 3 — what’s it like? How’s T-Mobile service? Is it worth the $$$?

I don’t use a sidekick but I am a T-mobile customer. For what its worth, I’ve always had a lot of luck with them. Outside of major metro areas in the SE, I roam on other networks, but there is no cost associated with doing so.

    Hope that helps.

Just got the Motorola Q … good price point and such a cool phone. Blue Tooth has made my life so much easier.

And its Verizon who’s wired the METRO here in DC …

I have Verizon and I’ve been pretty happy with it. But I think their “competitive advantage” as having the best network is coming to an end…so if T-Mobile has good reception, then that’s good news.

I’ve heard mixed reviews about the Q — but it looks cool as anything. Is the Windows OS easy to use?

WIndows Mobile 5 is great. I have a Samsung i730 and it does everything I want and more.

No offense, people, but you’re missing the boat. Danger’s Hiptop (nee T-Mobile’s Sidekick) has been developed from Day 1 with wireless handheld internet access in mind. Consider it a bad-ass always-on Internet PDA that just happens to have phone capabilities. Windows Mobile and Palm devices pale in comparison because they have so much legacy UI that was never intended for a cell phone.

I have loved my Sidekick and Sidekick II. I can’t wait to get a Sidekick III. I would NEVER think about using anything else.

That review actually sparked this post.

My reservations for getting the Sidekick would be…

Phone: does it get annoying to flip the screen to make / take calls?
Compatibility with Palm / iCal software
    T-Mobile service
    size and portability

I agree there’s nothing like it. The closest thing is a Blackberry, but I see too many lawyers carrying those around. Someone made this comparison: Sidekick : Mac as Blackberry : Windows PC.

Oh, the nerdiness of it all.

    Thanks Nick!

The phone on the Sidekick is fine. It is fun to flip it open. Not sure about Palm compatability.
P.s. We must both read Brad Feld’s blog :)
