On April 2, I will start at Raleigh, NC-based ChannelAdvisor.
ChannelAdvisor is a mid-stage company whose business is to help merchants sell online. It was co-founded by Scot Wingo, who started and sold Stingray Software and AuctionRover. AuctionRover was acquired by GoTo, becoming GoTo Auctions. GoTo then rebranded as Overture, which was then acquired by Yahoo!
Scot is an amazing person and entrepreneur, and is a huge Star wars fan. There are, in fact, Star Wars props all around the CA offices (note: they’re awesome).
My interview in mid-Feb consisted of a 2-hr Starbucks run with COO Michael Jones and Scot. Needless to say, it went well and I felt immediately at home (esp. if you know how much I like Starbucks).
ChannelAdvisor is a Kodiak Venture Partners portfolio company. John Abraham, my sponsoring partner at KVP for my EIR stint sits on their board and is the lead partner at Kodiak for this company. I’m grateful to John for introducing me to the company and to Scot.
So I’ll be moving to Raleigh the last weekend of March. Furthermore, I’m apartment hunting this week. But before that, I’m actually heading down to Pinehurst for the Catalyst 2007 conference.
