Building things

You should build something.

You should build something as in…now.

I bet you $2,000,000,000 (that’s $2 billion of Monopoly money) that there’s something brewing in your head right now — like a service or a product or just doing something good for someone.

Build it.

I shared my “story” at Wake Forest the other day in John Abraham’s VC class.  It was pretty awesome; I played the part of “George” in an Apprentice board room mockup.  There were student groups who did presentations about mock investments to make.  Yep, I had fun.

But I was mostly happy to see that these people aren’t afraid to build something.  I can’t tell you how many times I was asked about an idea or current venture — and all things aside, I was the happiest that they were building it and not wondering.

Who cares if you screw up.  Dyson screwed up over 5,000 times.  Now he’s a billionaire.

Get over the failure complex, be serious about something and go for it.

OK, rant over :)
